The various VATSIM vACC’s have come together again to host and announce a new edition of the Cross Africa event. This event will be the second edition of this year and will be held on the 9th of August.
The event is a cooperation of the VATSSA, Maghreb, Egypt and North East Africa vACC’s (VATSIM divisions) and will once again provide wide ATC coverage on the network for large parts of this vast continent. As in the past, many route options are expected to be possible. A varied list of airports are in play, allowing for a lot of different ways to cross all the (natural) splendour Africa has to offer.
Featured Airports:
- Tunisia – DTTA
- Cairo – HECA
- Addis Ababa – HAAB
- Nairobi – HKJK
- Dakar – GOBD
- Espargos – GVAC
- Lagos – DNMM
- Accra – DGAA
- Cape Town – FACT
- Johannesburg – FAOR
- Mauritius – FIMP
As with all editions in the past, from these airports you have the option to choose your preferred path across the continent. This allows for seeing all kinds of different scenery along the route and allows you to pick the flight duration you prefer. Even stopovers are possible as the booking system will allow you to make two bookings from different departure airports.
At FSElite we have also participated in the Cross Africa event last year and wrote down our experiences in this FSElite Original.
