Finally, X-Plane is getting a taste of old Airbus technology, as – courtesy of CremonaSoft – an A310 is announced. Being one of Airbus’ first developments, the A310 was first introduced in April 1983 with Swissair. With a range of 5,150nmi, the A310-304 is powered by two General Electric CF6-80C2 engines, which are set to be faithfully recreated in this product, among many other aspects of the aircraft:
- Accurate 3D model (Including Guages and Cabin)
- 4K and PBR textures
- Door animations
- Custom APU, electrical and pneumatic simulations
- Fuel system logic simulation
- Accurate weight distribution and flight model
- Custom sounds
- Airbus flight phase logic included
- Custom PFD, ND and ECAM systems
- Custom Vertical Velocity Indicator (VVI)
- Independent pilot/ co-pilot electronics for shared cockpit operations
- Multiple autopilot modes including autoland and Control Wheel Steering mode
CremonaSoft will also include a plethora of documentation as well as 5 default liveries:
- Airbus House colours (F-WZLK)
- Air Transat (C-GSAT)
- Air Jamaica (N837AB)
- S7 Airlines (VP-BSZ)
- Luftwaffe, Hans Grade (10+26)
The developers have stated that they intend to expand the feature list for the product over the course of future updates and are working to include a custom Sperry FMS with autopilot integration. Unfortunately, the post did not include confirmation of a price or release date, so we’ll just have to wait and see, although it has been confirmed that the A310-304 will be available for both X-Plane 10.5+ and 11.
