Cowan Simulation, known for their high-fidelity helicopter add-ons, announced the release of the Airbus H125 helicopter on August 12 for X-Plane 11 (with a free upgrade to X-Plane 12 upon release).
The Airbus H125 helicopter, formerly known as the Eurocopter AS350 Écureuil, is a single-engine light utility helicopter. The helicopter was initially designed and manufactured by Aérospatiale and Eurocopter prior to their merger with Airbus. From its inception in 2005 to today, the helicopter is used by individuals, airlines, charter operators, medical teams, governments, and law enforcement agencies. Needless to say, it’s an exceptionally versatile helicopter. Notably, the H125 broke the world record for the highest-altitude landing and takeoff in 2005 when test pilot Didier Delsalle touched down on the top of Mount Everest.
Cowan Simulation ensured that the performance of the helicopter is true-to-life by including real pilots to test and zero-in on the helicopter’s flight model. The developers included five manuals so that every virtual pilot has the chance to become intimately familiar with everything the helicopter has to offer. They also added cyclic and collective rotor animations, particle effects, dynamic FMOD sounds, a myriad of options surrounding baggage loading, flight accessories, different pilots and passengers, a working floats system, and much more (see the feature list below for additional features).
If you would like to purchase the H125, you can head over to the Cowan Simulation website where it’s available for $32.95 (USD).
