After surprising the flight sim community with the announcement of their Falcon 50 back in June, Contrail has finally shared their second development update on their first payware aircraft.
The Dassault Falcon 50 is a popular business jet, known for its long range and iconic trijet design. The aircraft first took to the skies in 1976 and remained in production until 2008. To this day, the aircraft is still a popular choice for a number of countries’ air forces, including South Africa, Portugal, and Italy. In addition to featuring an improved wing design compared to its predecessor, the Falcon 50 can typically accommodate 8-9 passengers and achieve a top cruising altitude of 49,000.

While few photo previews were shared in this development update, Contrail has shared the aircraft’s development is making good progress. The flight model and sounds have passed the first development phase, paving the way for real Falcon 50 pilots to evaluate the realism of both aspects. In addition, the avionics and core systems are nearing completion, while the walkaround mode has reached full functionality. Finally, MSFS 2024 users will be able to take advantage of an enhanced EFB that includes integrated Navigraph support.
While the re-texturing of the interior means limited photo previews, the Contrail team is making steady progress on the Falcon 50. With the preliminary phases of development nearing completion, hopefully more photo previews will be shared in the next photo update.
