Colimata Releases Concorde FXP in Early Access

Developer Colimata has released Concorde FXP in early access for X-Plane 11 users. Following on from two years of extensive development, Colimata has released the iconic aircraft. With a cruise speed of Mach 2, pilots can travel long-haul in just a matter of hours.

Debuting on X-Plane 11, the aircraft features a range of functionality, including a detailed 3D cockpit with more than 1000 click regions (including switches and quick access to areas). The cockpit will include 4K textures throughout and 700 custom lights with dimmable night lighting. On the outside, users can expect a detailed exterior modelling and animations. Again, all rendered in 4K with PBR effects.

As for the flight modelling and sound, the team has been committed to ensuring Concorde is well represented within the simulator.  Included are custom engine parameters, simulator vortex lift force and ground effects. Furthermore, the aircraft will be able to fly accurately in both sub and supersonic speed ranges. To assist with immersion, Colimata has included dozzens of sound effects with advice from pilots who previously flew the aircraft. Finally, for that detailed effect, FMOD 3D sounds have been included.

The question is why early access? As mentioned before, the idea is to gather feedback from the community on all aspects of the plane so that the team can continue to develop with it in mind. All essential systems are functional and users can do a flight. Updates are promised to come frequently in small files, which will be installed easily for the user. To compensate for the early access, the team have released the Concorde for a discount price $49.95. Once the product has been fully released, the price will rise to $59.69 (the significance of that price is that the aircraft was developed between 1959 and 1969).

You can buy it now from X-Plane.org store for $49.95 during early access. The full feature list can be found down below.
