The team at FlyByWire Simulations made an excellent appearance during FSWeekend last week and the team brought with them some goodies for visitors to see. Alongside a mountain of stickers, the team also showcased the A380X for the first time. Whilst announced a while ago, the team has been working tirelessly to bring the aircraft to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Members of our team visited them at the show and I’ll leave that write-up for another day. However, a new preview video of the aircraft in action has been shared on YouTube.
During the 25-minute video, we see, for the first time, footage of the A380X in action. It’s really important to stress this is early development and not indicative of the final freeware product. Members of the team hop in and out of the Discord stream to showcase the aircraft and add commentary on how development is going.
The cockpit itself has come a long way, with plenty of animations already functional inside the huge Airbus jet. Avionics and systems are still very much a work in progress, but the collective group of developers is giving it their all to bring the A380 to life.
You can watch the full 25-minutes below. Leave a comment below and tell us what you think of seeing the aircraft for the first time in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
