Scenery developer CentralSim is well known for their Central and South American sceneries. This time the developer presents Panama Pacifico Airport (MPPA), for Microsoft Flight Simulator. News for this scenery was mentioned through their Facebook page.
Located in central Panama, the airport is surrounded by important landmarks. Firstly, the Panama Canal spans just miles away from the airport. Landmarks such as the Bridge of the Americas and the Puente Centenario are important bridges that cross the canal. History plays a major role at this airport. Many years ago the airport was formerly known as Howard Air Force Base. An American airbase that was primarily used to intercept narcotic operations. Nowadays the airport sees commercial traffic offered by Wingo Air, offering services to central and South America.
The airport will feature objects, photoreal textures with PBR effects, as well as city buildings. We can clearly see the PBR effects casting from some of the airport buildings in the images. In addition, the satellite images of the airport seem to blend nicely with the surrounding area. The provided images are a work in progress. With that said, thus far the runway and taxiways have the proper colors in relation to satellite images. Furthermore, some of the airports surrounding buildings have also been customized to match that of real life.
CentralSim has already released Panama Pacifico for X Plane 11. You can check that out here.
