First announced on the developer’s Facebook page only a few weeks ago, Carenado has released the King Air B200 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, with compatibility for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 expected soon. A workhorse of the twin turboprop world and a Carenado staple since the FSX/P3D days, the newest version of the B200 brings the developer’s signature high-end visuals and accessible systems to MSFS.
The Beechcraft King Air B200 has served aviation for decades in many roles, including corporate transport, medevac, military transport, and special missions. Carenado’s recreation aims to capture this versatility, featuring two distinct 3D models for both VIP and Medevac configurations. Visually, the package stays true to Carenado’s reputation for high-fidelity modeling with detailed textures across eight included liveries (plus a blank version). Documentation for the aircraft includes PDF versions of the normal and abnormal procedures, performance, and EFIS/Autopilot operating procedures, and is available via Carenado’s website.
In the cockpit, the B200 includes an analog suite of Collins avionics and hot-swappable GPS configurations between the GNS and GTN systems (PMS50 and TDS). Carenado has also implemented their “RealXperience” technology, which adds immersive features like shivering needles, panel vibrations, and realistic attitude indicator startup. The King Air B200 is also fully compatible with MSFS 2024’s Career Mode, making it “career-ready” for VIP Charter and Medevac missions.
