Thanks to a community news submission by Thomas Bergman, Carenado has released their newest aircraft, the Cessna CT208BGrand Caravan EX G1000 for X-Plane 11. The Cessna CT208B Grand Caravan EX is an upgraded version of the C208B. The C208B EX features a more powerful 867 hp Pratt and Whitney PT6A-140 engine , an 11 knot faster cruise speed , and a higher rate of climb that has been improved by 94 feet per minute. As suggest by the name, the C208B EX G1000 will feature a Garmin G1000 suite of avionics.
Carenado’s CT208B Grand Caravan EX G1000 features a full interior and exterior modeled with full PBR materials and attention to detail. All PBR materials were rendered using industry-standard software used by the film and gaming industries. Various aircraft options are included, the cargo pod can be toggled along with the liquid ice protection tank. The Garmin G1000 suite of avionics is a fully customized version of the default G1000 included with X-Plane 11, the autopilot however, is the default G1000 autopilot. A customized CAS system and FMOD sounds have also been included.
The CT208B Grand Caravan EX G1000 is fully VR compatible and boasts a specifically designed engine dynamics simulation. The flight physics have been optimized to X-Plane 11 standards and features realistic behavior compared to the real aircraft. Five HD liveries are included along with five PDF documents covering normal procedures to performance tables.
