Captain Sim Ceases 32-Bit Development

Captain Sim has today called it a day on developing for FSX and other 32-bit platforms within the ESP engine (namely Prepar3D V2 and V3). Although no reason was formally given, it would appear that the development team are ready to move on with technology to improve their products for the future.

Speaking out on their forums, Captain Sim described FSX as a great simulator, but are now ready to “retire FSX officially”. This means that going forward, there will be no updates for FSX products nor no new releases for the sim.

However, it was made clear that Captain Sim will release their final FSX and P3Dv2/3 updates for the 757F and the 757-300 when they finally release. After those products, that will be the end of FSX for Captain Sim.

Captain Sim now join the likes of FlightBeam, 29Palms and FlyTampa all of whom ceased development for FSX.
