The Boeing 717-200 is a twin-engine, Rolls-Royce-powered, single-aisle short-haul jet airliner, originally developed by McDonnell Douglas as the MD-95 before Boeing merged with the company in 1997, where it then became the Boeing 717. The B717 first entered service with AirTran Airways in 1999, and as of 2025, Delta Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines are the only operators of the type.
