Canadian FlightSim Studios Releases Prince Rupert Airport for MSFS & XP12

Pleasing users of both MSFS and X-Plane, Canadian scenery developer Candian FlightSim Studios has released its rendition of Prince Rupert Airport (CYPR) for both previously mentioned platforms.

Prince Rupert Airport (CYPR) is an airport located on Canada’s west coast and serves its namesake town, located 5 miles to the west-southwest. The airport features a single 6,000ft asphalt runway, as well as a small terminal building. Interestingly, though not seeing any international arrivals, the airport is classified as an airport of entry by Nav Canada and is thus staffed by Canadian border patrol agents. Currently, the only scheduled passenger route served from the airport comes in the form of an Air Canada Express de Havilland DHC8-Q400 service with destination Vancouver.

Canadian FlightSim Studios has released its recreation of this charming Canadian airport for both, X-Plane and MSFS users to discover. Starting with the X-Plane version, the developer has indicated that the scenery features many hand-placed details and finely crafted 3D models, makes full use of XP12 physically-based rendering capabilities, and features HDR lighting and custom, region-specific vegetation. In addition, the developer has also tossed some local landmarks and a modeled hospital with a functional heliport into the mix, thus catering to both, the airline pilots and sightseers among you.

Potential customers should note that the X-Plane version of the scenery is exclusively compatible with X-Plane 12.

Not leaving MSFS users behind, the developer’s Microsoft Flight Simualtor rendition comes included with many of the same features, including hand-placed details, finely crafted 3D models, PBR texture work, HDR lighting as well as region-specific vegetation. The local landmarks and hospital are not missing either, thus also catering to the diverse crowd that are MSFS users.

Both versions of Canadian FlightSim Studio’s rendition of Prince Rupert Airport (CYPR) are available for purchase from the developer’s online store with both costing $9.50, subject to prevailing exchange rates.
