Burning Blue Design has recently released Fishburn Airfield, ICAO: GB-0002, for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
The little, unlicensed airfield can be found in the North-Eastern English county of Durham, and was opened by Tony Blair in 1995. In 2004 it was named “Airfield of the Year” by FLYER magazine for it’s welcoming atmosphere and for it’s “Bacon Butties”, which is a kind of bacon sandwich. In 2005 it also was one of the filming locations for the Bollywood movie “Hari Puttar – A Comedy of Terrors”. So… There’s that.
Burning Blue Design has created a faithful representation of the airfield with over 90 custom models and PBR textures. The scenery is based on a late 2024 layout and features full night lighting, custom hangar buildings with animated doors, animated ground spectators and several static GA aircraft, such as a Socata MS.880B, De Havilland Sea Vampire, Gloster Meteor F8, Hunting Jet Provost and more.
You can get your own copy of the airfield from the Orbx website, for 13.02USD excl. VAT.
