TFDi Design announced that they would be bringing the MD-11 to Prepar3D some time ago and we’ve heard little information about it. However, the team did share a brief development update via their Discord.
On their channel, they said that “exciting times [are] ahead.” To accompany this, the team gave an update on how modelling and coding of the systems have been going. First up is the new displays in the simulator where the team showcased how they were curved. Following that, a new preview of the modelling was shared which is coming directly from within the sim. The aircraft, as you can tell, has yet to be textured.
TFDi Design also discussed their current development workflow and described things as going well. They said that the modelling has been progressing well alongside the coding elements. They seem to believe that both will finish at “relatively the same time” and said this is “somewhat unique” for this type of project.
There’s still plenty more work to be done, but seeing the plane progress is always something to be getting excited about. As usual, we’ll be following this closely and update you once we learn more. You can join the TFDi Design Discord to stay updated.
