BlueBird Simulations has released a detailed update on its highly anticipated Boeing 757 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, outlining the final pricing model, progress across systems development, and plans for public previews later this month. Although a release date has not yet been confirmed, the team says it is committed to delivering a feature-complete and stable product when the aircraft is ready.
The full 757 package will retail for $80 USD (including VAT) and will include both the 757-200 and 757-300 variants, each featuring two engine types. This pricing applies to purchases made via the Just Flight and BlueBird Simulations storefronts. Xbox and Microsoft Marketplace releases are planned for a few months after the PC launch. BlueBird says the pricing reflects the depth and breadth of the aircraft while keeping it accessible to a broad audience of simmers.
Development is progressing through a three-phase beta testing cycle. The first phase focuses on core systems such as hydraulics, electrics, pneumatics, and fuel management. A second phase, set to begin in the coming months, will shift to more complex systems, including the flight management system (FMS), engine behaviour, and landing gear logic. A final round of testing with approximately 60 users will be used to polish and fine-tune the aircraft prior to release.
The development team continues to refine the aircraft’s functionality and fidelity. Among the notable features are working circuit breakers, a custom-coded hydraulic system, and realistic failure logic—particularly around bleed air and engine starts. Animations throughout the cockpit have been enhanced, and interactive cabin elements are being introduced. In addition, BlueBird has partnered with Boris Audio Works to produce a high-quality sound environment, with over 250 cockpit audio cues recorded by a real-world 757 pilot.
Further details are expected to be shared at FlightSimExpo 2025, taking place June 27–29 in Providence, Rhode Island. BlueBird Simulations has confirmed its attendance and plans to showcase the current state of the 757 to the public during the event.
Looking ahead, the developer also confirmed active development of the Boeing 767-300ER, with plans to expand to the -400 variant in the future. Much of the core systems and logic developed for the 757 will be shared across both projects, allowing the 767 timeline to be significantly shorter once full production ramps up.
Although the aircraft does not yet have a set release date, the latest development update from BlueBird Simulations reflects steady progress and a clear roadmap. With a competitive price point, full engine and variant coverage, and deep system simulation—including working circuit breakers—the 757 package continues to shape up as one of the most promising airliners coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator.
We’ll be sure to swing by their booth during FlightSimExpo 2025 to go hands-on with the BlueBird 757.
