Providing regional jet flyers with yet another destination to choose from, well-known scenery developer BDOAviation has released its virtual replication of Caen Capriquet Airport (LFRK) for MSFS users to enjoy.
Located near the French town of Caen, which itself is located in the Normandy region of France, Caen Capriquet Airport (LFRK) is a small French regional airport. The airport was initially constructed to serve as a purely military installation and was inaugurated by the French Armée de l’Air on August 17th, 1939. During WWII, the airport saw extended use during both the Battle of Britain and Normandy and, following the cessation of hostilities, was rebuilt and refitted to then-current operating standards. Since 1967, the airport has been serving in an exclusively commercial capacity. Today, the airport serves as the headquarter for French charter and regional airline ChalAir and sees numerous regional services operated by Air France and Volotea to multiple destinations across the French mainland and the island of Corsica.
Well-known scenery developer BDOAviation has released their replication of this tiny regional French airport for MSFS users to discover. Claiming to deliver a faithful replication of the airport, the developer indicates that the product comes with highly detailed 2k or 4k PBR textures, detailed, albeit low-polygon building models, and hand-placed vegetation, as well as highly-detailed ground polygons. For the history buffs among you, the developer has also taken the time to include a D-Day museum in their scenery.
