Barelli Releases Roma Ciampino Airport for MSFS

Your Italian Ryanair hub has landed

Italian MSFS scenery developer Barelli has released its rendition of Rome’s secondary aviation hub, Rome Ciampino (LIRA), for MSFS, adding to the developer’s existing Italian product catalog.

Roma Ciampino International Airport (LIRA) is Rome’s second international airport that operates on a joint civilian and military basis. The airport is located southeast of the capital’s center and sees mostly low-cost carriers and general aviation traffic, with Ryanair being one of the dominant carriers at the field.

Ciampino is one of Italy’s oldest continuously operating airports, with flight operations at the field first having started in 1916. On an interesting side note, the airport, in 1926, was the starting point of Italian engineer Umberto Nobile’s journey to the North Pole aboard the airship Norge. His trip was the first involving an aircraft successfully reaching the North Pole and the first to fly across the polar ice cap from Europe to America.

Italian scenery developer Barelli MSFS Addon, known for their recent releases of Trieste International Airport (LIPQ) has released its rendition of this history-rich and important Italian aviation hub for MSFS users to jet off from. Though not providing any formal feature list or product description, if screenshots are any means to go by, the scenery looks on par with the developer’s previously released products. As can be observed, not only has the developer poured significant development efforts into recreating a detailed and accurate rendition of the airfield itself but also of particular objects sitting on its premises, including a Canadair CL-215 model that sits on the roadside of the airfield.

Barelli MSFS Addons recreation of Rome’s Ciampino International Airport (LIRA) for MSFS can be purchased via the simMarket store page, costing you â‚¬17.20 E.x. VAT.
