Developer AzurPoly, known for their OV-10 Bronco and C-160 Transall, have recently released the SEPECAT Jaguar, officially licensed by Dassault Aviation, for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.
The SEPECAT Jaguar is a twin-engine, supersonic attack aircraft developed in the 1960s as a joint project between France (Breguet, later Dassault) and the UK (BAC, later BAe Systems). It was designed for ground attack, close air support, and reconnaissance missions. The Jaguar was valued for its rugged design, long-range strike capability, and reliability, making it a key aircraft in Cold War-era military aviation.
Pilots of the aircraft often joked about the lack of raw thrust, especially compared to aircraft like the Tornado or F-15.
Nonetheless, the aircraft had a solid reputation among those who flew and maintained it, and it got the job done in several conflicts such as the Gulf War, where it was used by the RAF for precision bombing and reconnaissance, and during the Kargil War, where it saw use by the Indian Air Force and carried out bombing missions in high-altitude conditions.
The Jaguar by AzurPoly comes in two variants, namely the French Jaguar A and the British GR1. Although the real-life versions had some cockpit and equipment differences, the AzurPoly variants share an identical cockpit, but do have some external differences.
The external model is highly detailed and crafted from 3D scans of the real aircraft. It also includes 16 liveries across both variants and all textures are high resolution, based on photoscan.
The flight model was created with the help of real Jaguar pilots and the aircraft features a variable payload, including static weapons.
The AzurPoly Jaguar can be bought through the MSFS Marketplace for roughly 26 USD excluding taxes. But according to the AzurPoly website, the add-on will soon become available on 3rd party websites as well.
