Axonos took to their social media recently to announce the development of the Mil Mi-2 helicopter for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The Mil Mi-2 is a light utility helicopter also known by its NATO reporting name “Hoplite,” designed by the Soviet Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant and was first flown in 1961. The Mi-2 has been used in various roles including transport, medevac, agricultural applications, training, and even light attack missions and has seen service with numerous military forces around the world, especially within Eastern Europe during the Cold War. The helicopter has also been widely used in civilian roles for tasks such as air ambulance services, police operations, and cargo transport. Almost 5500 of the type were made over the years until production stopped in 1999, many operators still fly the Mi-2 today.
No other details are currently being shared apart from these 2 images. Still, Axonos promises to recreate a high-fidelity visual & flying experience of the Mi-2 in Microsoft Flight Simulator and will provide regular development progress along the way.
As always, make sure to stay tuned to FSElite for further updates.
