Following on from the Mudry CAP 10C that was released toward the end of 2017 (check out the FSElite review here), French developer Avia71 has released the Ted Smith/Piper Aerostar 601P for X-Plane.
The Aerostar 601P was originally built by the Ted Smith Aircraft Company in 1967, before the company was taken over in 1978 by the Piper Aircraft Corporation following the death of Ted Smith. Piper continued to build the Aerostar in 600A and 601B varients, before re-introducing the 601P and 602P models later on.
The aircraft is a pressurized twin-engine turboprop powered by two Lycoming engines producing 290hp. With this equipment, it is capable of a top speed of 257kt and a service ceiling of 26350ft. It’ll take a 6000 lbs (2721 kg) gross weight, along with 165 gal (624 L) of fuel.

The aircraft is available from the X-Plane.org store for a regular price of $34.95, but at the time of release can be had for $29.95 during the store’s July 4th Sale (which ends soon).
