Scenery developer Astralis Studios continues to expand its range of smaller, regional, and general aviation-friendly airports with the release of Marsh Harbour Leonard M. Thompson International Airport (MYAM) in the Bahamas. MYAM provides the ideal jumping-off point for island-hoppers looking to explore the neighboring islands and cays. Marsh Harbour is also popular as one of the Caribbean’s boating and yachting hubs, in addition to being surrounded by crystal-clear waters and what many describe as a sportfishing paradise.
Named after Leonard Maurice Thompson (1917-2008), a local of the Abaco Islands who served with the RCAF during World War II, MYAM is the primary gateway to the Abaco Islands in the northern Bahamas. As one of the busiest airports in the region, Marsh Harbour handles a diverse mix of traffic from regional airliners like the Embraer 145, 175, and ATRs, to private jets, scheduled charters, and a stream of general aviation aircraft hopping between the Bahamas and the Southeastern US.

Astralis Studios’ rendition of MYAM aims to capture the tropical character of the islands and includes a custom-modeled main passenger terminal, hangars, and airport buildings. General aviation pilots will feel right at home shutting down at the Cherokee Aviation FBO and its large hangar, or taxiing past the air traffic control tower, all with fully-modled interiors featuring high-resolution PBR textures and realistic night lighting. Astralis Studios states that realistic weathering has been applied to the runway, taxiways, and aprons, giving the concrete a sun-bleached, tropical appearance. Detailed ground markings, enhanced vegetation, and airport surroundings round out the airport’s scenery.
