ARIMA Releases Dortmund Airport for MSFS

Following their earlier release of Sharjah International Airport (OMSJ) for MSFS, scenery developer ARIMA has now provided users with their virtual rendition of Dortmund Airport (EDLW) via the simMarket online store.

Dortmund Airport (EDLW) is a minor german international airport, mainly serving the city of Dortmund and the surrounding Rhine-Ruhr area, the largest urban agglomeration in Germany. The city of Dortmund is home to around 600’000 inhabitants and is considered the most innovative and sustainable city in all of Germany.

Dortmund “Brackel” Airport originally entered into service in 1925 and began its operations by offering international services to Paris via AeroLloyd, a now-defunct German airline. Following the onset of WWII, commercial services originating or terminating at Dortmund “Brackel” got suspended, and service was only resumed in 1979 from a newly constructed airfield named “Dortmund Wickede.” Today, the airport sees a limited number of carriers operating in and out of its premises, mainly running charter or holiday traffic to warmer places in the south of Europe.

Scenery developer ARIMA has recently released its MSFS version of this historic and quite important German airfield for users to enjoy. The developers claim to provide users with a highly detailed recreation of the airport that includes the use of PBR materials and textures, correction of airport elevation and airport mesh, fully redesigned airport layout, and the extensive use of dynamic lighting.

The scenery is now available via the developers’ simMarket online store page and will set you back €14.64 E.x. VAT.
