It’s no secret that many have wanted to experience virtual reality (VR) with the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. Whilst it has been confirmed to be coming this fall, Asobo Studio and Microsoft are looking for beta testers to support their development efforts in preparation for a wider release for VR in the sim. As such a call-to-action has been shared on the Flight Simulator blog looking for testers to provide feedback back to the team when using VR.
If you own a Windows Mixed Reality Device (WMR HMDs) then you could be in with a chance to be part of the Closed Beta to test out new virtual reality functionality. This is just the first phase and following on, the team will look to have those with other headset types to enrol with the Closed Beta. That said, if you’re over the age of 18 and agree to their terms and NDAs, you could be in with a chance to be part of the exclusive club. It’s worth noting that signing up does not guarantee access.
Here are the requirements for those looking to be part of the Closed Beta process to test out VR in Microsoft Flight Simulator:
- You must own the sim
- Have a VR headset (WMR HMDs Phase 1, Additional Headsets Phase 2)
- Be a registered Insider
- Submit your DxDiag
- Agree to and adhere to the NDA
