The team at AMJ Scenery Studio aims to provide the X-Plane community with sceneries for the China region. The developer has released their first airport scenery for the region, Shanghai Pudong Intl Airport (ZSPD).
Shanghai airport is situated nearly 20nm from the city center. Like the city itself, the airport is very busy with international passenger and cargo operations. Back in 2018, the airport was considered the world’s eighth busiest in terms of passenger count. Furthermore, the airport is planning to accommodate eighty million passengers and six million tons of freight once two additional runways and new terminal buildings are built. A number of airlines, such as China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, and Air China are based at Pudong; China Eastern Airlines has the most extensive route structure out of all three.
The scenery features an up-to-date airport that is relative to its layout found on the latest aviation charts. In addition, hundreds of hand-placed objects and custom-made textures clutter the airport. Custom buildings, including the two terminals, satellite terminals, and cargo facilities are developed with rich detail; it also includes accurate airport signage and ground markings. In regards to performance, the team notes that transparent windows and interior modeling of the terminals haven’t been incorporated yet, however, they may add it in the future.
You can purchase this scenery from simMarket for $31.70 USD (excl. VAT).
