MSFS scenery developer Alkee Creations has released its recreation of Larestan International Airport (OISL) for MSFS users to discover.
Located in the northwest of modern-day Iran, Larestan International Airport (OISL) is a small international airport serving the city of Lar. Though not much information is available regarding the airport’s history, it began operations in 1983, mainly serving domestic routes within Iran. It was only after the Persian Gulf War that international flights were offered, with the first international destination being served being Dubai in the UAE. Today, the airport sees numerous carriers operating from its grounds, including Iranian flag carrier, IranAir with flights to Doha, Dubai, Kuwait, and Tehran, and flyDubai with service to Dubai, to name but a few.
On an interesting side note, the airport poses a challenge for novice and experienced pilots alike due to the absence of sophisticated instrument approach procedures such as RNAV or ILS procedures and the existence of towering 7’000ft mountains in its proximity.
Scenery developer Alkee Creations has released its rendition of this rather unique and exciting airport for MSFS users to discover.
