AKD Studio has released a video showing in-sim footage of its GLF650 ultra-long-range business jet under development for X-Plane. The nearly 2-minute video previews the exterior model, flight deck, and cabin modeling all shot in the simulator. AKD has stated that the aircraft will be compatible with both X-Plane 11 and 12.
Based on the popular G650 from American aircraft manufacturer, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation (but not directly called that by the developer due to legal reasons), the bizjet typically seats between 11 and 18 passengers in luxury accommodations and can fly an impressive 7,000 nautical miles (13,000 km) without refueling.
Interior previews in the video as well as those posted on the developer’s Discord server show a luxurious executive interior, though it is not known how many seats the release version of the aircraft will be modeled with. Work-in-progress flight deck photos reveal AKD’s version of the Honeywell Primus Epic flight deck used in the real airplane. Flight management is expected using AKD’s custom flight management system coding with independent left and right MCDUs.
This will be AKD’s second business jet for the X-Plane platform. Their first, the GLF550, was released in 2022 and has seen several updates since. The GLF650 will build upon the expertise that AKD Studio has gained and we are likely to see continued incremental updates to the GLF550 as well.
No information about the release date or pricing has been disclosed but FSElite will keep you up to date as those details are confirmed.
