On the X-Plane.org forum, Airfield Canada has announced their newest airport in development, Halifax Stanfield International Airport for X-Plane 11. Halifax Airport, named after the 17th Premier of Nova Scotia, Robert Stanfield, serves the Halifax area along with mainland Nova Scotia and adjacent areas. In 2018, Halifax Airport served over 4.3 million passengers and serves as a focus city for both Air Canada and WestJet. Most flights to and from Halifax are run seasonally by airlines like United, American Eagle, Delta, Swoop, and Condor. Condor currently operates the only flight to mainland Europe with all other flights going to various destinations in Canada and North America.
There was little information given in the post, however, both the airport and surrounding areas are currently being modeled. At this time Airfield Canada has confirmed extensive modeling and ground textures for the airport have been completed. Halifax was originally started as a freeware project but due to the amount of time and money being invested into development a decision was made to continue as a payware project. Those users who donated to previous freeware work will be given a copy of Halifax free of charge. No ETA or price has been announced. Stay tuned to FSElite for more information on Halifax when it is made available.
