AIGTech has issued a brand new statement regarding their AIG AI Manager (AIM) and how model matching works with VATSIM. The statement issued confirms that the current AIG AI Manager, with the included One-Click-Installer (OCI) works with the current configuration for model matching when used with vPilot.
The statement was confirmed by other AIG members, along with other users. However, it was added that this is not the result of improved integration since the closure of FLAi last week, meaning that “the current solution will be an 80-90% solution to get freeware model-matchmaking into VATSIM.”
AIG has also confirmed that they are now aware of improved integration with VATSIM, which was communicated to them directly from a member of the VATSIM team. This means AIG can now work on design changes to ensure that the AIG solution is 100% compatible with the one-click installer. In addition, whilst no details were shared, there are ongoing private talks between AIG and VATSIM to ensure that the whole process is easier for VATSIM users.
The statement concluded that any further developments will be made via the AIG forum. The statement from AIG clearly follows on from the events which transpired last week where freeware model matching service FLAi had to shut down due to various models and livery licensing being revoked. You can read more on that in our previous post.
We’ll keep you updated with any future developments or statements regarding the situation.
