Aerosoft has announced a megaton of news today with regards to their upcoming scenery development. It includes brand new product announcements and some welcome optimisation coming our way for some key airports. In total, we get to hear news about 4 upcoming projects underway at Aerosoft.
1 – Aerosoft Airport Dusseldorf – Coming to MSFS
Aerosoft released Dusseldorf exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. A decision that they still stand behind due to the ability to make advanced scenery with the new technology and engine. However, they heard the community and have decided to backport it to Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020).
This port will still feature the same level of detail found in the original version, which is within the scope of what the older sim can do with the older technology. Aerosoft confirmed that users will get both versions free of charge, but each will be under separate installation and maintained under their respective platforms.
Screenshots and more details are to follow.
2 – Mega Airport Frankfurt Getting ‘Major’ Optimisation
A new “major” optimisation effort is underway for Aerosoft’s Mega Airport Frankfurt. This includes optimisation for 3D models and textures, a review of the LOD levels and overall better usage of the GPU and CPU. Furthermore, there will be future implementation of Terminal 3 and updated ground layout changes in the future.
Expect this to be a free update in the future.
3 – New Airport: Aerosoft Airport Stuttgart
Continuing on with the German theme, Aerosoft has announced Stuttgart Airport (EDDS). This is being developed under the direction of Jo Erlend and Lukas Vezyroglou, so it should mean a high-quality product. This will primarily be an MSFS 2024 product, with the possibility of being ported back to MSFS 2020 depending on the demand.
4 – New Airport: Mega Airport Paris Charles de Gaulle
Yes, that’s right, Aerosoft is working on Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This is also being headed up by Jo Erlend and Lukas Vezyroglou. This is going to be a hugely ambitious project for the team and is expected to be highly realistic both in terms of visuals and atmosphere. A lot of work will go into optimisation the airport for the simulator.
We’re told that there will be a lot of transparent communication with regards to development, including plenty of previews as development progresses.
