Aerosoft Releases German Islands East Frisia for X-Plane 12

After being available for X-Plane 11, Aerosoft has now released a new version of Germany’s “East Frisia” Islands for X-Plane 12. The scenery covers a whole chain of islands that are uniquely located in a National Park of the northwest coast of Germany. Many of these islands have small airports or heliports to discover, providing many opportunities to hop from island to island.

All islands in East Frisia are fully covered, stretching from Borkum and Juist in the west to as far as Wangerooge and Mellum in the east. The islands are quite popular with tourists and provide a large variety of towns and landmarks to explore ranging from lighthouses to beach chairs. Nature shows itself in the form of dunes, beaches and forests and is perhaps best visible from the sky. Thankfully pilots have many opportunities here as all the airfields in the area have been recreated in a detailed fashion.

To take full advantage of X-Plane 12’s capabilities, Aerosoft have also added some new features to this version. They have added PBR reflections for ground textures and revised the orthophotos. There is also support for 3D trees and weather effects and the scenery works natively with X-Plane 12 seasons.

The East Frisan island scenery for XP11 and XP12 can be purchased on the Aerosoft shop and simMarket for about €24.04 (excluding taxes).
