Aerosoft and SimWings have shown some more previews of Gran Canaria (GCLP) on their forum. But unfortunately it’s a bit of a disappointing preview. As you may know, Aerosoft announced this project over 1.5 year ago (May 2016). After this announcement we haven’t gotten any indication of the progress up until now and… it’s not looking as good as you may be expecting. A developer from SimWings, the studio working on this project, previewed some shots of renders that they have done for the airport. You can find these below.
It’s indeed a bit worrisome that after almost two years of development this project has not moved past the rendering stage. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done. With the recent announcement of Tenerife South by the same developer, the future in this project is unsure as the developer is now focussing on another project.
We just hope it doesn’t go the way of Johannesburg Airport, as Gran Canaria is another destination we’d love to see in our Sims. We’ll continue to watch the forums for any further updates.
