Aerosoft took to their forum to announce the release of a new update for Mega Airport Frankfurt, bringing the long-awaited Terminal 3 and several realism improvements to MSFS.
Frankfurt Airport’s Terminal 3 project represents one of the largest airport expansion projects in Europe. Designed to alleviate congestion and modernize the aging airport infrastructure, the new terminal introduces additional gates and a modern passenger experience. Construction first began in 2015, with the project being postponed to 2026 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the project has finally crossed the finish line, with Terminal 3 officially inaugurated on April 22, 2026, coinciding with Aerosoft’s release date.
With version 1.1.2, Aerosoft has now matched the Mega Airport Frankfurt scenery with the real-life airport’s April 2026 layout, headlined by the addition of Terminal 3. The updates also focuses on improving the ground operations by introducing taxiway “S,” updating and correcting airport signage, and refining the terrain and taxiway intersections. Together, these improvements should enhance accuracy and immersion when navigating the airport scenery.

Beyond the layout updates, Aerosoft also implemented a number of system and visual enhancements to the scenery. Terminal 3 now features animated jetways, with VDGS systems being upgraded to the newer Safedock X models. Jetway placements across the airport were updated to minimize collisions with aircraft while docking. Finally, the jetways for gates A50-A69 received improved rotation values, allowing for smoother and more realistic docking procedures.
Aerosoft Frankfurt’s Terminal 3 update is now available for download via Aerosoft ONE, free of charge for all existing users. You can purchase Aerosoft’s Mega Airport Frankfurt directly from their website, if you have not already.
