Daytona, Florida is probably best known for the legendary race track that resides there, and the NASCAR race of the year that is held there annually. Pretty well right over the raceway fence is Daytona Beach International Airport, and when the Daytona 500 race rolls around each year this airport is packed to the brim with private planes, with the wealthy owners heading straight to the track,
Aerosoft has now released their Daytona Beach International scenery for X-Plane as Daytona Beach International XP. Sadly, it’s a little late in the year to be well-timed for those wishing to fly their simulated private jets into the airport for the race, but X-Plane users can now be well prepared for next February.
Mathijs Kok, perhaps the most well-known member of the Aerosoft team, made the announcement on the Aerosoft forums detailing what X-Plane users can expect from the product in their sims. Some of the features he listed as included in the Daytona Beach scenery include;
- AutoGate jetways, SafeDock and marshallers
- A detailed and accurate ground layout
- High resolutions ground textures, utilising PBR
- Custom models for city buildings
- Detailed modelling of the Daytona International Speedway
- Airport corrections for the nearby Lafayette Landings Airport (FD90), as well as detailed modelling
- Animated airport environment
- Plus more (click through to the announcement linked above to see the full listed features)
The scenery is available now from all add-on retailers where you would usually find Aerosoft products, including simMarket. Prices will likely vary, so consult your preferred addon store.
