The long-awaited update to the Aerosoft CRJ for MSFS2020 has been teased online via a YouTube video posted by real-world CRJ pilot and beta-tester, YourSimCFI.
Users of the CRJ, first released for Microsoft Flight Simulator in 2021, have eagerly been awaiting updates to the regional jet, and the 6-minute video details some of the changes we can expect to see upon its release.

They include, but are not limited to, additional options in the EFB, including SimBrief flight-plan importation, customisable knob selection options and landing performance calculations. There is also a chart page in which users can see a moving map, vastly enhancing situational awareness and a representation of what real-world pilots use in their day to day.
Elsewhere in the cockpit, a number of overhead switches have been adjusted to better reflect how they are in the real-world, and a realistic stall test function has been implemented.
Most importantly, the virtual cabin has seen a major overhaul, with a far more realistic design and working seatbelt and no-smoking signs in the overhead areas.

In the comments section, YourSimCFI addressed a number of questions by viewers, writing ‘LNAV, VNAV, 2024, LPV and more are all being worked on. To my knowledge This will update all CRJ 550/700 900/1000.’
It’s clear to see that progress is well underway and hopefully before long we will be seeing an update to the CRJ in the simulator. Stay tuned to FSElite for more updates.
