Despite all the other big news from today (ie. April Fools), Aerosoft dropped some actual news that their Connected Flight Deck is now in Open Beta. Starting today, Aerosoft has made their Connected Flight Deck module available for the public to try out.
If you’re wondering what Connected Flight Deck is, it’s an online tool which enables you to fly with someone else in the cockpit. Whether it be with a co-pilot, an observer or just a bunch of random people (up to 200), you can do it. It is all ran through web services, so no more need to adjust firewalls or other complex systems to be able to fly with friends. There’s a neat infographic which demonstrates how the server set-up works.
To get started, you will need to download the latest update for the Aerosoft Airbus series (version 1.2.3.4) and then head over to the ‘Club’ on the Aerosoft forums. From there, you will find a range of information to help get you started and set up.
This is still beta software so be sure to support the developer and report any bugs or other findings you may have!
