If you’re a fan of historic aircraft, then Aeroplane Heaven’s Grumman F3F-2 will likely be very appealing to you. Known as the “Flying Barrel”, this historic biplane first flew in 1935 and saw nearly 150 of the type eventually built. The US Navy used the aircraft until they retired it in the 1940s.
Aeroplane Heaven first developed the aircraft in 2001 for Flight Simulator 2002 and they said it “quickly became our number one seller and remained that way through to the last re-incarnation for P3D.” Now, in 2021, the team has completely re-mastered the models with new details, along with brand new texturing. In particular, the new Wright Cyclone engine has “literally hundreds of new details and inclusions.” Further the external model being totally revamped, the cockpit has been also overhauled with a highly detailed and functional aircraft.
In the package, is the special F3F-2-based “GULFHAWK” racer and display aircraft built for Al Williams and now on display in the National Air &Space Museum in America. It will also come with 6 liveries depicting famous fighter planes.
In terms of the sound package, Aeroplane Heaven has said that a digitally-mastered WWise soundtrack.
