Aeroplane Heaven’s North American B-25J Mitchell is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, featuring a highly detailed recreation of the legendary WWII bomber, authentic radial engine sounds by Echo 19, and a special “Doolittle Raider” variant.
We first heard about the development plans for Aeroplane Heaven’s B-25 Mitchell back in September when the developer revealed they were working on a “high definition tribute” to the bomber that served in every theater of the Second World War. The Mitchell follows on the heels of the developer’s AVRO Type 683 Lancaster Bomber, also for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and continues Aeroplane Heaven’s long-standing commitment to bringing iconic Second World War aircraft to flight sim enthusiasts.
Aeroplane Heaven’s Mitchell package includes the well-known “J” model in both the glass nose and “strafer” nose (featuring eight 50 cal. machine guns). Additionally, a custom modelled Doolittle Raider B-25B variant is included with period-accurate modifications for the raid that was the United States’ retaliation for the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
Available for both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024, the developer states that B-25’s flight dynamics have been tuned to match the aircraft’s real-world reputation for being agile yet stable, even under heavy combat loads. The bomber is powered by two 1,700 hp Wright Twin-Cyclone radial engines with realistic start routines and a sound package by Echo19. Visually, the aircraft has been developed using what Aeroplane Heaven says are high-fidelity models based on original drawings and historical references.
Aeroplane Heaven’s B-25J Mitchell for MSFS features several authentic liveries from the aircraft’s various campaigns and theatres of operation. These include the famous “Ruptured Duck” of the Doolittle Raid, “Bugs Bunny” (strafer nose) from the Pacific Theater’s 38th Bomb Group, and European Theater schemes from the USAAF and No. 342 and No.98 Squadrons of the RAF.

Modern avionics, a Garmin G3X and GFC autopilot, are available and can be hidden via a toggleable option on the copilot’s sub-panel. Another hidden options panel controls crew members’ visibility in the internal and external model. Manuals for both the B-25J and B-25B are available on Aeroplane Heaven’s website.
