Best known for their heritage and World War military aircraft, Aeroplane Heaven has released their next project in the fleet for Microsoft Flight Simulator as the general aviation Socata Rallye MS.893 short take-off and landing light aircraft.
The Socata Rallye is a French built light aircraft with STOL capability, making it a popular contender in the general aviation market. The original Rallye was produced in 1961 with mid-mounted dihedral wings, tricycle sprung landing gear with offset nose wheel, and large fowler flaps to bring an easy and enjoyable experience to new or experienced pilots. Through its 21 year production span the Rallye saw a staggering 28 iterations not including a run of four Polish produced PZL-110 variants constructed under licence as well as the sale of the type in the US as the Waco Minerva. The Socata Rallye also saw service as a military training aircraft in Libya, Burkina Faso, France and El Salvador to name a few. Among the types produced, two main differences separate the production, light (MS.880 series) and heavy weight (MS.890 series), the main difference between the two is the light having two or three seats and the heavy having capacity for four seats.
The Rallye MS.893, the aircraft selected to recreate in MSFS by Aeroplane Heaven, has a 180 horsepower Lycoming O-360 engine and is capable of landing on many tricky surfaces making it the ideal aircraft to explore all that MSFS has to offer. Due to most customers valuing the operational capability of a lighter aircraft over internal gadgets and gizmos in the real world, Aeroplane Heaven has chosen to recreate a sparse cabin in commonality to its real world counterpart but they have done so with interactivity in mind. The aircraft comes with an additional EFB type tablet which is capable of GPS that plugs into the cigarette lighter port to assist in cross country flight navigation, some ground objects such as fuel canister with animated fuel cap and more.

The Socata MS.893 also comes with 12 liveries from all over the world both military and civil, PBR texturing throughout based on the real aircraft to take advantage of the MSFS ecosystem that represents an aircraft of its age and an authentic stereo pack for immersion.
Although the aircraft is not built natively for MSFS 2024, the developer has included a compatibility version that will run on the platform with some work arounds that they have built in. The Socata Rallye MS.893 by Aeroplane Heave is available on Orbx Central, the Aeroplane Heaven store, and Just Flight for £11.99/€14.31/$14.87 Ex.VAT.
