Aeroplane Heaven has recently released the Hawker Nimrod MKII and Fury MKI for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.
The Nimrod and Fury certainly are more similar than they are different. Both first flew in 1931, with the Fury being a land-based variant of the aircraft, reserved for the Royal Air Force, whereas the Nimrod was a carrier-based variant, reserved for the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm. This meant that the Nimrod required some additional features such as an arrestor hook, and thus a stronger airframe as well, to handle the forces that came with carrier arrestor landings. The Nimrod also received slightly broader wings and swept wings, rather than the straight wings on the Fury.
Both variants were known for their manoeuvrability and speed, being one of the first RAF aircraft to exceed 200 mph (ca. 322 km/h) in level flight.
The Fury and Nimrod by Aeroplane Heaven include high-fidelity models with hand-crafted and detailed features, as well as many unique animations. The aircraft come with 6 liveries in total, 3 for each variant, and we’re promised accurate flight dynamics, combined with realistic engine operation mechanics, that should both result in a distinctive and challenging experience.
The aircraft pack can be bought from either Aeroplane Heaven directly, Orbx, Just Flight or via the MSFS Marketplace, all for roughly $20 Excl. VAT, depending on the store of choice.
