Aeroplane Heaven took to Facebook to announce they are working on a brand new aircraft. Although the aircraft itself wasn’t confirmed in writing, the team did hint that it “might help if you brush up on your Spanish. We certainly need to”, when talking about the aircraft.
A member of our team, Jordan, then did some digging and found out it is more than likely the FMA IA 58 Pucara. This claim is then backed up by multiple people in the comment section on the post itself.
For those interested, the aircraft was first introduced in 1969 as a counter-insurgency aircraft. It had a primary role in the Falklands war when many of these aircraft were used as fighter aircraft and also to drop unguided bombs. There is certainly a rich history behind this plane and Aeroplane Heaven are intending to bring that to the simulators in due course. As usual, the team look to be making this a highly detailed rendition of the plane with on-site photography taking place.
Whilst no further information is available, we’ll be sure to keep you updated with any development updates.
