The Flight Sim Deck brings you a video in Aerofly FS2 on the LaGuardia Expressway visual approach for runway 31. As one of the more famous and challenging approaches in the country, it’s crucial to have scenery with the proper visual cues. This is where Aerofly really shines!
After you’ve received clearance for the Expressway Approach you will cross Prospect Park. At this time you should be tracking the LGA VOR at FL025, heading 045. From this point track waypoint DIALS. Aerofly FS 2 is still very limited with waypoints but DIALS is available. While crossing DIALS turn to a heading of 085. Once the 085 heading has been established I recommend hand flying the rest of the approach, as you slowly descend from FL025. This will bring you over Flushing Meadow Park. On the left, you will see CITI Field. You want to stay to the right of the stadium as you turn left around it while aiming for the I-678 highway. This will help you acquire visual on 31.
