Developer A2A Simulations, known for its proficiency in producing piston-powered Piper planes, posted a brief development update and some new previews of its forthcoming rendition of the Lancair Legacy RG550 approximately 4 months after the project was announced.
According to A2A, the scope of Legacy’s simulation environment is growing thanks to some recent trips that Scott Gentile, A2A’s owner, made to the real airplane. The developer stated, “One of the advantages of owning and operating the aircraft you’re simulating is that you never stop learning about it. Weeks, months, and even years of real-world experience continue to reveal new details, behaviors, and nuances, and each one is an opportunity to make the simulation even more authentic.”

Several preview photos were included in the post, shown above, which showcase details in the Legacy’s panel configurations. Of note, the developer successfully brought the brand-new-to-MSFS Working Title Avidyne IFD550 into the panel layout. Other configurations shown include a GTN750, GTN650, and a layout without any GPS navigators.
Despite the extra development work and attention to detail, the Legacy is still progressing well. Release is targeted for Q3 of 2026.
