TFDi Design’s MD-11 is a hotly anticipated aircraft for Prepar3D and now it’s coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator. During FlightSimExpo, we spent some time with the team at the show floor to learn a bit more about the aircraft and how development is proceeding.
We have learned from the team that the MD-11 will come with an impressive number of features that will keep any simmer happy when flying the tri-engine jet. Building off their experience with the 717, TFDi will implement accurate flight dynamics, whilst also deploying the aircraft with highly authentic system and engine sounds. In addition, the team are working towards having an accurate onboard system simulation with full autoflight and FMS simulations. Along with making sure it flies well, the plane will also look good with high-resolution textures, accurate animations and a detailed model.
To accompany the new details, TFDi Design also shared a number of screenshots with FSElite of the aircraft in development on Microsoft’s platform.
We also spoke to Invernyx (parent company of TFDi Design) and they confirmed that they are still working hard on the Prepar3D release. In fact, they confirmed that the aim is to release both versions “in tandem” with one another, so that simmers on either platform can enjoy the plane at the same time. This was made clear to them and is a very important point for the team. You can watch our full conversation on our YouTube channel or down below.
