After a three year break, scenery developer 4Simmers took to their Facebook page to announce their latest project, as well as a full return to flight simulator development. For their first project, the team has released Northwest Arkansas National Airport for MSFS.
Northwest Arkansas National Airport (KXNA/XNA) opened for air service in 1998, but features relatively modern passenger facilities. The airport has seen a steady increase in passenger numbers thanks to its proximity to Walmart’s and Tyson Foods’ headquarters, as well as the University of Arkansas. XNA Airport has service to most major hub cities across the United States, including Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago. Currently, the airport is exploring options to build a second concourse to accommodate the increasing passenger numbers.
4Simmers’ latest airport scenery includes the key features of a MSFS scenery, including PBR textures and reflections, accurate modeling of terminal buildings, and performance optimizations to ensure smooth FPS. The developer has stated free updates will be released in the coming weeks, including the planned new terminal. Beyond the XNA Airport scenery, 4Simmers has announced that they have more scenery projects and updates to their previous projects in the pipeline. Overall, it will be exciting to see what comes out of the development team in the coming months.
You can purchase 4Simmers’ Northwest Arkansas National Airport scenery from the MSFS Marketplace for $12.99. However, at the time of writing, the scenery is on sale for $9.99 for the next two days.
