The guys over at 29Palms have released a Status Update to tell us what’s going on with their projects as LGSK Skiathos, LGSM Samos, KTNP Twentynine Palms and EDDN Nuremberg. They know you are curious, since they have received dozens of e-mails from customers asking about P3D V4 compatibility with mainly Skiathos airport.

LGSK Skiathos
They are currently working on new autogen for the island in preparation for the release of the P3D V4 compatible version. The first release will be a simple port free of charge including the following features:

  • Native P3D V4 export
  • New autogen
  • Several minor fixes

What is NOT included:

  • The new apron
  • The new runway extension

Why? The changes at the real airport are so major that 29Palms will revise Skiathos from the ground-up using the latest tech and release that as “Skiathos v2” later this year / next year. But they don’t want to make you wait any longer for a native P3D4 version, thus the upcoming pre-release.

For more information go to 29Palms Facebook as well as FSElite for latest releases and announcements.

LGSM Samos & KTNP Twentynine Palms
29Palms has just released updates for both airports, previous update fixed the light effects which worked differently in the initial release of P3D V4. Since then, Lockheed Martin has corrected the issue with their latest hotfix. Now 29Palms needed to revert the last update, and, in the process, fine tune the lighting effects. Samos now is equipped with additional Dynamic Lighting effects for the apron spotlights.

Troubleshooting Tool
29Palms has also decided to release a “Troubleshooting Tool” to help out customers that have conflicting addons which have their own layout and elevation data for LGSM Samos and KTNP Twentynine Palms. Those files need to be deactivated so the sceneries can display properly. This tool will do this for you automatically by scanning the whole directory of your flight sim installation and detecting possible conflicting files. The Troubleshooting Tool can also be used to change the season.

EDDN Nuremberg
For those who are worried about EDDN Nuremberg: you do not need to worry anymore, as the project isn’t dead. They say the following: “it’s just huge for our standards” so they want us to be patient for now. More information will come as soon as it is available.
