According to their Facebook page, the scenery team at 29Palms has started development on their first MSFS 2024 project, Chania International Airport (LGSA). This announcement followed a discussion with Aerosoft (who owns the MSFS 2020 version of the airport) in which a decision was made not to upgrade the scenery but rather start from scratch in order to get the right level of detail in the new sim.
Chania International Airport serves the city of, you guessed it, Chania. is a city on the Greek island of Crete. The airport serves as a gateway to the western side of Crete and as a result would make for a wonderful destination for simming, if you’re looking to fly to an island getaway.
The scenery will have highly detailed 3D objects, an upgraded parking area, detailed terminal interiors, brand-new polygons and textures, enhancements to the surrounding area, and additional features still to be revealed. Simmers can expect a release in the Summer of this year, with additional Greek Island airports to follow. While we wait for more information, check out the screenshots below for a sneak preview.
