29Palms and Captain7 Release Nuremberg Airport for X-Plane 12

Scenery designers 29Palms and Captain7 are taking us to Nuremberg, for an updated rendition of Nuremberg Airport (ICAO: EDDN). The airport was first released for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane 11 and now a converted and updated version for X-Plane 12 is available on the Aerosoft shop.

Nuremberg Airport is an international airport, located north of the city of Nuremberg in the Bavaria region in Germany. After Munich airport, its the second largest airport in the region. The airport has been around since 1955 and has seen many incremental additions over the years such as a cargo center in 1987 and a transfer-control-terminal in 2007. It features a single 2700m runway, which is used daily by both GA traffic and many commercial airlines such as Eurowings, Corendon airlines and Ryanair. The airport offers various ways to line up your favorite aircraft with either runway 10 or 28. These include ILS, RNP, LOC and VOR for a mix of precision and non-precision approach types.

The scenery for Nuremberg was under development for around 2.5 years, aiming to include all the buildings and facilities around the airport. The rendition covers an area of around 55 km² and contains various recognizable buildings, traffic routes and terrain features and is compatible with various seasons in the simulator. According to the developer, one of the highlights (full feature list below) is the lively and realistic atmosphere at the airport due to various vehicle animations. Extra care was taken to get an accurate depiction of the taxiway and apron surfaces. The conversion to X-Plane 12 also brings a number of extra features related to X-Plane 12 tech, such as revised lighting, trees, bushes and grass and weather effects.

EDDN was also previously released for MSFS, as can be read here.
The scenery can now be purchased at the Aerosoft shop, for around €20.00 (excluding VAT).
